FAQs

🏺 About Earth2Ware

What makes Earth2Ware different?

Earth2Ware celebrates handcrafted ceramics inspired by the Cornish landscape, coastline and countryside. Every item is designed and handmade in my Cornwall studio, combining traditional craftsmanship with functional, beautiful design.

Are all your pieces handmade?

Yes. Every Earth2Ware piece is individually handmade in my Cornwall studio. Small variations in shape, colour and glaze are part of the character and charm of handmade ceramics.

Will my item look exactly like the photographs?

Because every piece is handmade, no two items are identical. Small differences in shape, glaze pattern and colour make each piece unique while staying true to the design shown.

Why are handmade ceramics more expensive?

Every piece is individually made by hand. From preparing the clay and forming each item to glazing, firing, sanding and finishing, many hours go into creating every piece. You’re purchasing a unique item that has been carefully crafted rather than mass-produced.

🍽️ Product Care

Is your pottery food safe?

Yes. All functional pottery is glazed using food-safe glazes and fired to the appropriate temperature.

Is your pottery dishwasher safe?

Most pieces are dishwasher safe, although hand washing is recommended to help preserve the finish for many years.

Can I use my pottery in the microwave?

Most functional pottery is microwave safe unless otherwise stated on the product listing.

How do I care for handmade pottery?

Handmade pottery is designed to be used and enjoyed every day. Although many pieces are dishwasher safe, hand washing will help preserve the finish. Avoid sudden temperature changes, such as moving pottery directly from the freezer to a hot oven.

Why do glaze colours vary?

Glazes naturally vary depending on the firing, kiln atmosphere and clay body. These subtle differences make every piece truly one of a kind.
