Small Horse Hair Raku Vase

My Horse Hair Raku pieces are made by following similar techniques to that of standard Raku (which involves firing the piece in a fuel-burning kiln, and removing it while it is still red hot). After removing the hot ceramic piece from the kiln, horse hair is carefully placed onto the hot clay, creating unique, and beautiful carbon markings. 

Each piece is lovingly crafted in (or near) my studio in Callington, Cornwall. 

This vase is approximately 10.5cm in height.
