Abstract Blue, Lavender & Ochre Splatter Stoneware Mug

A hand-thrown stoneware mug with a softly rounded cylindrical form, substantial curved handle and a lively abstract splatter decoration. A creamy white glaze is layered with loose painterly marks and drips of powder blue, lavender, cobalt and mustard-ochre, with occasional green where the colours overlap. The lower section is left partly unglazed to reveal the warm natural stoneware beneath, giving the piece a tactile contrast between glossy glaze and sandy clay. The decoration continues around the handle and inside the mug, so every angle has its own spontaneous pattern. Small variations in throwing, glaze flow and firing make this a unique one-off piece for everyday drinks or as a distinctive handmade gift.
